In October of 2021 Mason and Khristine just so happened to be bored of their single lives and at the same time made the decision to jump on a dating app by the name of Hinge. Khristine found Mason's page first and was hesitant about whether to like his picture, but eventually did. Mason then saw that she liked his picture, and he invited her to start a conversation. Mason was on the slope at the time so he had nothing better to do than to talk to her ALL day long. This really got them to get comfortable with one another before even actually meeting! Their first date was a couple weeks later after they had started talking. Khristine at the time had Covid and couldn’t taste or smell anything, so she told Mason not to take her to a fancy restaurant since it would be a waste of money. Mason wanted to get his brownie points, so he had planned an axe-throwing activity and a fancy dinner date at GrapeTap. Mason shelled out some big bucks for a dinner Khristine couldn’t even taste! Which honestly just became a joke in time. Fast forward another date, awkward kiss or two, and they were on their third semi-date. It was a Halloween Pub Crawl in Anchorage where Mason attended with his friends, and Khristine attended with hers. Both ended up completely ditching their individual friend groups and ran away together to fall in love at the very romantic Williwaw bar. Mason had no pre-planned ideas to ask Khristine to be his girlfriend, but after several rounds of liquid courage, he was overcome with the overwhelming desire to pop the question. He asked Khristine to be his girlfriend and it was a instant yes! So what next? The two commuted from back and fourth between the Anchorage and Wasilla areas to grow their new found relationship over the next six months. Shortly after, Mason found out that he was accepted into the Anchorage Police Department academy starting in June of 2022. Mason lived in Wasilla at the time and hated the idea of commuting. Coincidently, Khristine and her brother, John, decided they would buy a Duplex together the month before the academy started. Luckily for the couple, they loved each other so much that they felt comfortable enough to take the next big step in their relationship, moving in together. After a little remodeling and juggling a police academy, Khristine was accepted into Alaska Pacific University Nursing program! Thats Right! a Nurse and a Cop!!! How original lol. With everything that they juggled to include, nursing school, police academy, duplex remodeling, work and school diciplinary issues, some rough patches, they came out on top of it all!. Mason graduated from his Police academy in 2022, and Khristine finished her nursing school in 2025. In 2024, these two lovebirds faced hardships that tested the very core of their bond. But as storms give way to sunshine, their resilience shone through. They fought through the darkness, battling for their future together, and in the end, they chose each other - more determined and more in love than ever before.
Fast forward to fall of 2025. Mason had some of these marriage thoughts running through his mind. Khristine also coincidently provided some not so subtle hints lol. Mason expressed how serious he was to Khristine. Mason knew that he had a horrible taste in jewelry and would have absolutely butchered getting the perfect ring so he may have had some help from Khristine in picking one out. One big shiny rock in the mail later, Mason waited till the time was right. Khristine had always talked about wanting "professional photos" taken of the couple. A light bulb popped into Mason's head. He looked through Khristine's Instagram following and located an amazing photographer by the name of Donna Marie in the local area. Mason reached out to Donna and pitched her the idea. Mason wanted Donna to post on her Instagram story that she was looking for a model call and wanted to give away a free photoshoot to a cute couple. Mason loved the idea and the very next morning, Donna posted it. Khristine and Mason were eating breakfast next to each other the next morning. Mason noticed that Khristine was looking at the post while they ate. Khristine said, "Huh, that's cool". Mason asked what it was. Khristine showed him the post. Mason told her that she should put in for it! Khristine said, "There's no way we would win". Well Mason's plan kinda blew up in his face in that moment so he had to improvise. He told her, "if you don't put in then I will, we've been wanting to do that for a while!". Khristine told him to go ahead and that she has over 10K followers so theres no chance! Mason had to sneak Donna a message and let her know about this update then sent her the Instagram message and next thing ya know THEY WON! Mason and Khristine coordinated with Donna for this photoshoot and decided on September 4th of 2025 that they would go to Summit Lake in Hatcher's Pass. Donna and Mason coordinated the surprise beforehand. The couple did a photoshoot where Mason ran up behind her while she was looking away, picked her up, hugged her, spun her around, and kissed her. They did that once, and Donna wanted a second shot at it. So while Khristine was looking away, Mason pulled out the ring, ran up, and stopped right behind her. Mason got down on one knee, heart racing, Khristine still looking away and confused. Donna had to tell Khristine to turn around. Khristine turned her head and was shocked!. Mason held out the ring and completely forgot the speech that he had written down in the notes app on his phone and tried to memorize. The gravity of the moment and nervousness caused him to improvise some of it. Khristine said YES!. The two hugged, embraced one another, shared an amazing kiss, and an amazing area. The rest of the photoshoot went amazingly. Where is the couple now? STRESSING OUT ABOUT PLANNING THIS WEDDING! So everyone better show up, laugh, drink, eat, take pictures, dance, and have an amazing time because there have been a dozen fights to make this special day happen! lol Mason and Khristine are looking forward to seeing you all!!!
