Demi and Mason met during their first semester of college at Arkansas State University through a mutual friend in Greek life. Their first date was a Pi Kappa Alpha semi-formal in October 2019, when Mason took Demi to dinner at Ita Bena in Memphis with a group of friends before boarding a Mississippi River cruise. The night was filled with laughter, great company, and a bit of chaos—thanks to some overly enthusiastic fraternity brothers who famously tossed chairs into the river (and earned the fraternity a fine… silly boys!). Over the next few months, Demi and Mason continued to grow closer, officially beginning their relationship on December 30, 2019. In December 2020, they welcomed their beloved dog Banjo into their lives while still in school. Throughout college, they supported one another through their undergraduate degrees—though Mason would be quick to say Demi needed a little more support. Mason graduated a year earlier, started his "big boy job", and proudly cheered Demi on through her final year before celebrating together when she finally crossed the stage. After Demi graduated and started her "big girl" job they adjusted to their new normal beyond college life. Mason then decided he wasn't quite sick of college just yet, and went on to earn his master’s degree. In June 2024, they purchased their first home together. While they already feel married in many ways, they are thrilled to finally seal the deal and exchange vows in front of God, their family, and their friends.
