We actually met at Malone University. We had a few classes together, but didn't really associate with one another. As Cortney was getting ready to move to the Dominican Republic we found out we had a mutual friend in common, Mason's former youth pastor, Keith Melugin, who Cortney was going to be working with in the DR. Mason and Cortney hit it off one night sitting and talking at IHOP for 8 hours (Cortney doesn't even like IHOP). That must have been love and sacrifice right there.

What started out like a normal day going hiking at Cuyahoga Valley National Park turned into Cortney saying yes when Mason got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. While our friends were in town we all went hiking Sunday after church. As we were doing so, our friend, Anna, was capturing every moment with her camera. Mason found the perfect spot on a log in front of the most beautiful fall trees behind us. As we were sitting on the log he got down on one knee, asked me to marry him and I was in awe!
