It all started at Appalachian State University. It was the first day of the fall semester in 2019 and they were both in the University Singers Choir. By chance, their director placed their assigned seats right beside each other. Chase was a bit shy (shocking, I know) and had his nose in his computer working on an assignment, too nervous to try and talk to any of the new faces around. Mason came to sit in his seat beside Chase and noticed the assignment he was working on. Not wanting to interrupt, but also determined to make new friends, he smiled and introduced himself to Chase. They talked, smiled, and laughed the rest of the class period. Who knew the first new face they met at the School of Music would turn out to be their forever. The semester finished, then holiday break, and they were back together in the Spring. It didn't take long for them to gravitate to one another again and have a spare lunch together here and there. Then came the music history paper. Chase knew Mason was a whiz at history, and while he wasn't too shabby either, he asked Mason if he would be willing to help him do some research at the music library later that night. No research was done that night, just more talking and giggling, much to the librarian's dismay. Things started to fit into place and they realized they felt...right. Through college's trials and tribulations (as well as quarantining from a pandemic) they both graduated and got their first apartment together along with two teaching jobs, and eventually two little fur babies. While on a vacation after their first year of teaching, Chase popped the question, and thankfully Mason only had one word to say: "yes!" Now, here they are ready to say their vows and start the greatest adventure they could ever experience, hand in hand.
