Mason and I met years ago in high school though our homeschool co-op. Even though we knew each of each other then, we really did not get to know each other personally until years later when we both had graduated high school and moved on to college. I was just about to graduate my sophomore year at NWACC, but before I could finish one of my classes, I had to interview 3 people I did not know for my project. One of the people I chose was Mason. One of my best friends, Cooper, gave me Mason's number for the project, since Cooper was our mutual friend. After Mason helped me with my project, we became inseparable as we got to know each other deeply over the course of that summer. It's crazy to think that one little school project led to me finding the love of my life, and the one that I will be spending the rest of my life with.

I went on a vacation to Gulf Shores, Alabama, with Mason's family. Proposals and wedding talk had been in discussion between us at that time, but I had no idea what awaited me on this trip. The night he proposed to me, I made sure I was all dolled up to smile pretty for the family pictures, and that was when he proposed to me. Mason and I were the first of the couples in his family for pictures. I was just focused on looking at the camera when Mason stepped back, went down on one knee, and opened the little ring box, my beautiful engagement ring sparkling in the light. He smiles up at me and asks, "Will you marry me?" I squealed and giggled and melted into his arms. That night his family celebrated us with dinner and lots of pictures.
