AVL is close to downtown and the venue/activities as well as offers plenty of rental car choices.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport
CTL is the closest major airport however it is a ~2 hour drive away from Asheville. Charlotte has plenty of rental car options (or a $100 UberX one-way) however you may be able to car pool since many out-of-town guests will be flying into CTL.

GSP is closer (~1 hr) than Charlotte but has fewer flights from the west coast. Still has plenty of car rental options.
