It's an ongoing joke in both of our families that we have my little sister Savanna and Mason's little brother Macrae to thank for our story. They attended a middle school homecoming dance together in the Fall of 2013. Our families met that night and quickly became close friends! At the time, Mason and I didn't have many mutual friends so it took some time for us to warm up to one another. We were both in the HHS choir and theatre at school and as time went on, we realized how much we had in common. We enjoyed each others company, always laughing and never running out of things to talk about. After many, many nights of family dinners, day trips, gatherings and doing life together, we became best friends. Of course, everyone saw it coming and by September 5th, 2014 we started dating. Through the end of our high school years, Mason and I grew closer, staying loyal to ourselves and one another. College came around the corner and with it, the harsh reality of adult life. Mason moved to Chicago, IL in Spring of 2018 to be with family and explore career options. After a year of dating while being 700 miles apart, Mason proposed in downtown Chicago during my Spring Break trip to spend time with him. Now, we are together again in Alabama working on starting our lives together. It has been almost 7 years of ups, downs, laughter, tears and love but we thank God every day that He saw it fit to guide our paths into one!
