MaryScott and I, both newly minted first-year law students at Ole Miss Law, met at our very first law school social function. Surrounded by what have become great friends, MSP and I struck up a conversation after she approached a group of us and inquired "what are the Mississippi State boys doing?" Lucky for me, I was the only State boy there. The conversation led to a GroupMe message (not my proudest moment), which led to an exchange of phone numbers. After a few months of persistent effort on my end, and equally as persistent resistance on MaryScott's end, she finally caved and agreed to become my girlfriend. Two and a half years later, as the pandemic seemed to be fading and our law school journey was coming to an end, I asked MaryScott to be my wife on the slope of her favorite ski run in Deer Valley, Utah. Our time together has been nothing short of amazing. No matter what life has thrown at us, we've grown so much together and shared in countless memories. We find ourselves now, happily enjoying our engagement as we begin our careers as attorneys.
