How we met?

The first time or the second time?

Stewart and I grew up down the street from one another. We went to elementary school through high school together, and knew of each other but never really knew each other. Junior year of high school we had french class together and sat right next to each other! Stewart has such fond memories of that time! December of 2019, I was working night shift at Childrens Hospital, and I was just starting my shift when I got a notification that Stewart had sent me a message on twitter! I opened it, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw he was asking me on a date! I quickly texted my sister, Madison, and my best friends, Kelsie and Shannon, and asked them if they thought I should say yes! You can guess their answer...but they all said I should, so I did! After my stretch of working we met at Carrigan's Public House for dinner. We sat and talked and caught up on the five years since high school. As we were talking about our classes and friends, I asked him, "Oh ya, weren't you in German?", to which he was so surprised and a little offended, and said "Um, no...I sat right next to you in French class Junior year, you don't remember?". I was so embarrassed, but it seemed to wipe away some of the nerves we both had! Since that night, we have pretty much been inseparable. Covid made out first year of dating look a little different, but we got to spend a lot of time together and really learned to be intentional with our time since there weren't a lot of going out to dinner dates! Looking back, we both agree that we are so blessed that we started dating after high school and we are so excited to start our journey of marriage together!! Big shout out to Laura, who told him to message me and ask me out. Also, big shout out to Madison, Kelsie, and Shannon who all told me to say yes!!

Our Proposal

February 28th 2021 To start the day, Mary Randol came over to my apartment because we were supposed to go on a day trip with Laura and Victor, my sister and her boyfriend, to IKEA in Atlanta. I had just moved into my apartment and wanted some new furnishings and what not. Little did Mary Randol know, that was a ruse to get us to have a free day. Laura and Victor texted us that morning saying that they had to bail (my plan the whole time). My plan was to have a date day and end it at Vulcan to propose at the top with a view of the city. Leading up to the day though, the weather forecast was nearly 100% rain all day. With that in mind, I ended up asking Mary Randol to marry me in the living room of my apartment. Since we weren't going to be able to have the date day that I planned, I thought that doing it in the morning would allow us to celebrate and enjoy time with each other all day until we had our engagement party that evening. From the get go, and even days leading up to it, I could tell Mary Randol knew something was up. Obviously, we talked about marriage quite a bit, but as the day drew closer, I think she could tell I was nervous about something, and of course I was. As the day went on, there was absolutely no rain. It was a perfect and beautiful day. We ended up getting to enjoy the weather and spend our first date day as an engaged couple the whole day. Although things didn't go according to plan, I wouldn't change anything about how it played out!
