We’re Getting Married!!!

We have known each other as friends for more then 20 years. Last November for Mary Rae's birthday party, Charles showed up into town tired and forgot a gift. He invited her to dinner to which she accepted. Dinner was chosen to be Olive Garden and Mary Rae showed up in a nice dress while Charles showed up in work attire. The evening went a little awkward, as to what the intent of the dinner was. Charles apologized for the evening and asked for a do over. Mary Rae said "uhhhh sure". The next dinner they both treated as a date and during the dinner they lost track of time. There was an unfortunate however, Charles position was transferring early next year. They decided to continue to meet up and have conversations while Charles was packing his apartment in preparation for his move. They grew closer as Charles was getting ready to move. After the move there was some trying times with figuring out how to make the long distance work. However, they kept communicating and continued to grow closer together. Trips were made back and forth by each person in attempts to keep the relationship strong. However, with the current pandemic it has been making it harder to make the trips. They have resorted to using video chatting and video calls. On July 4th, Charles purposed to Mary Rae with a pink teddy bear. Charles had been using bears before when he had seen Mary Rae and knew that pink was her favorite color. It was a deception that Mary Rae didn't see coming. Charles bought the ring from a local jewelry store the day before while Mary Rae was still asleep. Also, on the 3rd of July he had a conversation with her father to ask for her hand in marriage. The greatest deception however, was Charles had to pick up Mary Rae while he had the ring in the car and have her not be suspicious of it. The next chapter is being written as we speak as we are preparing for a wedding.
