It was Sunday, the last day of Austin City Limits. Andrew, looking to catch up with an old friend, invited Elizabeth Williamson (aka “Biz”) to what was, in his opinion, the most prestigious of all Austin bars: Toomey Tap Room (very mediocre bar that has since shuttered its windows). After a short wait, Biz’s friend—who was “cute and single”—arrived. Andrew must’ve known, then and there, that he’d one day marry the girl in the white bucket hat because he stopped in his tracks and stared for a little too long. Which, in turn, made Maeve stop in hers. A few weeks later, Andrew decided to make a last-minute trip to Austin for Halloween weekend. Rocking a gold chain channeling his best Tony Soprano, he texted Biz, “Where’s Tucson?” Spotting Maeve, the space cowgirl, at Lustre Pearl on Rainey Street, he knew the time was right. After one too many, vibes were waning and "Tony", knowing the key to a woman’s heart, offered to buy his Space Cowgirl some dumplings. Suddenly, sparks were flying—until his tipsy & content Space Cowgirl went back to the space station and "Tony" realized she’d given him the wrong number. Andrew battled back by finding Maeve's number and texting her, “December 2, you’re busy,” confirming with confidence their first official date. He flew down and they ate even better dumplings this time. Their dates quickly escalated from dinner to several days together, with both making the trek back and forth between cities until finally, they decided life was significantly better as a duo. They made distance fun by traveling to Mexico City, Banff, Waco, Santa Fe, Tulum, Manhattan Beach, Park City, and Sandpoint (Maeve’s mother, if asked, would say they’ve been honeymooning for far too long). And less than a year to the day of their first date, Andrew moved from Dallas to Austin, outgrowing the nickname “Dallas Boy” and closing the chapter on their time as a long-distance couple. Shortly after closing on his first house, Andrew proposed on freshly painted walls in their new home and made this thing officially official. They cannot wait to make their new favorite travel memory in Hawaii with you all.
