Revitalized, hip Scott’s Addition is the hub of the city’s brewing scene, with cideries, taprooms, and distilleries housed in converted warehouses. Tazza Kitchen is a great place to grab lunch or dinner! Tang & Biscuit is a trendy place to play indoor shuffleboard and grab some food and drink.
Carytown is nine blocks of dining and shopping at the southern end of the Museum District in Richmond. Some of our favorite lunch spots include The Daily Kitchen & Bar, Ellwood Thompson's (healthy grocery and cafe), Burger Bach, and Sticky Rice. Fun boutiques to stop by include Glassboat, Mongrel (fun home accessories, greeting cards, and novelty items), World of Mirth (local toy store), and Traveling Chic Boutique.
Mary Lynne's favorite restaurant in Richmond, Osaka Sushi & Steak is right across the street from University of Richmond. Other great restaurants nearby include Mosaic and Azzurro. There is also great shopping including Quinn (formally Monkee's), Beecroft & Bull, Pink Palm (Lilly Pulitzer), and Orvis.
The Shops at Libbie and Grove is charming neighborhood, boutique and specialty store shopping and cafes. For food, Continental Westhampton is a casual restaurant and bar (the vodka limeade is a must try!). Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint is delicious (apparently... Mary Lynne avoids as they use peanut oil). TASTE is a casual grab and go sandwich shop; Palani Drive is one of Mary Lynne’s favorite places for wraps, but if you are looking for a more classic, hole-in-the-wall, sub shop, Stuffy's is for you. Libbie Market also has some tasty options! There is also great shopping! Peter Blair is a nice store for men and Nellie George is an awesome boutique for women.
Just down the street from Libbie & Grove at Libbie & Patterson there are more shopping options. The shops at 5807 has over 20 small, unique, local-vendor shops inside. There is also a Pearls Bake Shop for cupcakes and sweets as well as The Barrel Thief Wine Shop and Cafe. Westhampton Pastry Shop is across the street and has amazing cookies, donuts, and treats. Superstars Pizza & Subs is down the street.
Belle Island lies within the James River and is a city park. Access the island via the suspension footbridge that runs under the Robert E. Lee Bridge. From Belle Isle, you can see many Richmond sights, including Hollywood Cemetery, Tredegar Iron Works, and get a great view of the Richmond skyline.
