The One Where We Get Married

Mary and Preston met through Facebook dating! They were both ready to give up on online dating and but decided to give Facebook a try. On June 6, 2022 Preston sent the first message and we haven’t stopped taking since then

Life happened and meeting dates didn’t work out. There for a minute we didn’t know if we would ever get to meet. Then came July 1, 2022 and we’re both so ready to meet. Preston made sure that happened and drove all the way to Grand Prairie to take Mary out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. We were a little shy and nervous, but quickly made conversations and talked for hours. It felt like we had know each for a long time

Preston had insisted Mary come with Him in a trip Colorado. So Mary made sure to get days off and was excited to explore another state with Preston. But what Mary didn’t know is that Preston had already spoken with her parents to ask for her hand in marriage. And spoken with her boss from work and told her his plans to ask Mary to marry him. He already had it all planned and the ring ready to go! So on December 28th they took off on a plane to Denver. Once to Denver, they drove Golden. They got in late and Mary still had no idea that the next day would something so special. On the 29th they woke up early, Preston had it planned out to go the Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods. First stop was Pikes Peak, where drove up the mountain and explored stops along the way and loving seeing real snow in the mountains. They got to the 13 mile marker, and got out to the see the gift shop and take in the view. They then walk around the building to see more of the snow, mountains, and take some pictures. Well this is where it gets a little funny…and Preston’s plan gets changed a little, he loses his shoe in the snow! They both start frantically looking and nothing… he is now down one shoe. He starts to panic a little… he keeps telling Mary that they have to make it to the Garden of the Gods before the sunsets and it gets dark! And Mary trying to tell him it’s okay, we will go run to the store to get you a new pair of shoes and we’ll make it. So they get to a store and he runs in with only socks on and buys a pair. He runs back out and he keeps saying that they need to make it there fast, the sun was setting. They make it and it is absolutely beautiful with the sunsetting in the mountains. And start climbing up and Preston is waking fast to get to a certain spot with a wonderful view. And Mary is struggling in the back trying to figure out why he is walking so fast. They make it up there and stop and Preston says to Mary here watch this video over the Garden of Gods, there is some pretty cool History here. So he hands her the phone and starts playing this video, but very quickly she realizes that it wasn’t about the history. In the video it reads that this the history of the Garden of Gods, but it is about the our history here today. He tells her how much he loves her and how he wants to spend forever with her. At the end of the video it read, turn around now so we can start forever. Mary turned around and there Preston was on one with the ring in his hand. Mary, with tears in her eyes, said yes! That is where they’re forever started!
