we're getting married!

Sometimes love takes decades of connections, a dating app, and a few Bartaco margs... Their story technically began long before they ever met. In the 1960s, MK’s grandfather and Wade’s grandfather knew of each other through working in the banking/insurance industry together. Years later, Wade’s mom and MK’s uncle attended Brentwood Academy together, and in a very Nashville twist, MK’s mom and Wade’s mom even dated the same high school boyfriend. Safe to say, their paths were crossing long before they ever knew it. Fast forward to Lexington, Kentucky, where they were both attending college, unknowingly living just one street apart. Even that close, the timing still wasn’t quite right. From Nashville to Lexington and back to Nashville again, life kept moving them around, quietly setting the stage. When the timing finally was right, they met the most modern way possible, on Hinge, and went on their first date at Bartaco on 12 South (a true Nashville staple). What started as a simple first date quickly turned into something so much bigger. After that first date, the crazy ride truly began. From traveling to new cities and chasing concerts, to many Saturday game days, late nights, and countless memories in between, they’ve built a life full of laughter, adventure, and love. Timing has truly been everything in their story, and they are grateful it all unfolded exactly as it was meant to. On October 22nd, at a place very special to them, Wade’s family’s lake house on Center Hill Lake, Wade pulled off the BIGGEST surprise (and for all who know Wade, you know this wasn't easy!). Surrounded by the beauty of the lake and their new golden retriever puppy Bru, he asked MK to spend forever with him. What she didn’t know was that Wade had secretly flown in some of their closest friends and family to celebrate with them afterward. The weekend quickly turned into an unforgettable engagement party filled with so much love, joy, and happy tears. One thing about Wade and MK is they love their people. They are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the absolute best family and friends, and they truly would not be who they are, or where they are, without each of them. Everyone invited means more to them than words can say, and they cannot wait to have everyone together to celebrate this next chapter of their lives.
