It was fate when Maryjane was placed in the upperclassmen gym class her freshman year (2009) at Ridgeview High School. It was there that she admired this tall guy that wore college football outfits every day. She came to know him as Brendan and they shared many mutual friends throughout the last 13 years. They always had a crush on each other, but it wasn't until 2018 when the stars finally aligned and they went on their first date. It was clear to both of them they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other.

Brendan had the help of many people to pull this off at Maryjane's best friend Tori's house on 4th of July 2021. Everyone was acting pretty normal, so she wasn't 100% expecting it, but would hope it would happen that day. Tori's husband Kevin told the girls they needed to go to the store for beer pong balls. Sensing that this was an immediate need, the girls went on a quick trip to the store and the rest of the party help set up the proposal site in the backyard- complete with a rose petal walkway, big letters that spelled out "MARRY ME?", and Elvis music. It was a beautiful day celebrating their love with their friends and family.
