Craig and Mary met on Twitter. Long before Elon Musk turned it into a barren wasteland, Twitter served as the conduit for a relationship that has now blossomed into a marriage. After months of talking every day, they met in person for the first time on April 19, 2019, with Craig driving from Penticton to Kennewick. Though due to the timestamp on a photo in Craig’s phone, their anniversary has unofficially been declared as April 20. Several back and forth trips later, Craig accepted a job 700 miles east in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Despite the distance, their relationship persevered and continued to grow into what it is today. The 13+ hour travel days have become the norm for the two as they made the trek from Kennewick to Swift Current and vice versa countless times since late 2019. The unprecedented challenges along the way have not deterred the love that has formed. The first global pandemic in a generation, a border closure that lasted for over a year and countless other challenges that have come in-between have been conquered time and time again. This marriage is a testament to the power that love has. It is an example of no challenge being too difficult to overcome. And is the start of a lifetime of happiness.
