Formal attire is requested. We ask that men wear suits and women wear formal or cocktail dresses. We are getting married in a Catholic Church, therefore we ask that, out of reverence for Our Lord, everyone dress modestly. Please no plunging necklines, dress cutouts, or ultra short/tight dresses. We want each guest to feel handsome and beautiful while keeping the priority of the Ceremony centered around Jesus in the Eucharist.
We are so excited that you are joining us! Attending a Catholic Mass can be intimidating if you have never been to one and you do not understand what is going on throughout. There will be memorized prayers and responses that all Catholics will recite. We ask that you just follow along, do what everyone else does, and pray for Math and Mary Grace's marriage when you are unsure of what to do. There will be more information on the programs at the wedding that will give more details about the significance of the Mass and what the Mass means to Catholics! Lastly, our ceremony will be approximately an hour and fifteen minutes long. The wedding ceremony and holy Mass is the most important part of our entire day and we look forward to sharing it all with each of you!
The reception venue is 7.2 miles away from the Church. It takes about 10-12 minutes to get there depending on how fast you drive!
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Home2 Suites by Hilton and the Hilton Garden Inn, both located in Edmond, Oklahoma. We have decided to have a Friday wedding because we had a deep desire to get married the same time that Jesus died on the cross for mankind, 3:00pm on a Friday. We believe this demonstrates the love that Christ has for each of us and is a beautiful note to begin our marriage on, striving to die to ourselves for each other everyday as Jesus did for us.
Yes! There is a shuttle scheduled to begin transporting guests from the main hotel to the reception beginning at 5:00pm. The shuttle will be going to/from the hotel throughout the entirety of the evening for guests convenience and safety. The shuttle will be available to take the final group of guests back to the hotel at the conclusion of the reception, which is 11:00pm.
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! However, if you wish to honor us with a wedding gift, you can order it off our registry, and have it delivered to the address provided!
Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to allow for open plus ones. If your significant other is on our guest list, it will be clear on the invitation and they will be able to see it on the RSVP section.
Yes! In Holy Matrimony we are called to be open to life, therefore we welcome all kids to attend our special day. Many of the couples we know with kids have been a beautiful example of marriage and family life in Math and Mary Grace's lives and we can not imagine having any other desire than to share our special day with the families that we know and love!
Only a very small one. The ceremony will end at approximately 4:15pm, and in order to give the wedding party time to take pictures and Math and Mary Grace time to enjoy a private dinner together, cocktail hour will not begin until 5:30pm and Math and Mary Grace's grand entrance will not occur until 6:15pm.
Yes, we will be having an open bar. However, we ask that all guests drink responsibly and respect the reception venues guidelines and expectations. The venue prohibits outside alcohol from being brought in to the venue. In addition, the venue does not allow shots, straights, on the rocks, doubles, or liquor without ice in order to maintain the safety of all guests.
We will be serving a variety of appetizers during cocktail hour, an Italian dinner for the main course, and delicious cake for dessert! There will also be a gluten free option served for dinner in order to accommodate all guests!
In Oklahoma, it is oftentimes difficult to predict what the weather will be like. However, in July, Oklahoma tends to be very hot. Our ceremony and reception will be indoors, but, at our reception venue there will be optional games and activities outdoors if guests are interested. Please keep this in mind when planning what to wear!
We ask that, to honor the reverence of the holy Mass, you do not take photos during the ceremony. However, during the reception, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you would like!
