We're getting married!

Superbowl 2008 was a great day, and not just because the New York Giants won (!). Mel went to a Superbowl party in her hometown hosted by Jon's football teammate. Little did Mel know that as she walked into that house, she was walking to meet her future husband. Fast forward 11 years and the two high school sweethearts are now officially signing on to forever together.

2017 was a year of change for the happy couple. Jon planned a trip to the Outer Banks to "just get away." Mel was suspicious because lets be honest, she usually plans the trips. The night they arrived at the Outer Banks, Mel and Jon went to Jockey's Ridge State Park to watch the sunset. On this beautiful terrain (featured in the home page picture), looking to the east you can see the expansive ocean and to the west you can see the sun setting over the bay. Mel took a glance at Jon's pockets to check for any big, boxy looking objects - nothing. Just as the sun settled over the horizon, Jon got down on one knee and popped the question. Jon had ordered a special, extremely small ring box and completely took Mel by surprise.
