After a date night dinner at Reata on the evening of August 4th, Andrew proposed that we go for a walk through the Fort Worth Water Gardens (supposedly considered the "cooling oasis in the concrete jungle" of downtown)—a place I have always LOVED going to see. Little did I know that the evening would bring heartfelt surprises, each one orchestrated with love and thoughtfulness. Upon entering the gardens, Andrew led us down the steps to a private spot where the city’s sounds were silenced, and tranquil waters reflected the landscape of my favorite place. Andrew paused in front of the "Quiet Pool" and dropped to one knee, asking, "Will you marry me?" This was certainly the easiest and quickest “Yes!” I have ever spoken! This precious moment was perfectly captured by one of our dearest friends who currently lives in Chicago and was there on the day we first met in the fall of 2018. Hidden behind the lens of his camera, he documented the raw emotion, freezing in time the beginning of our forever. Shortly after, we were approached by nearby strangers, asking if they could pray over us right there at the proposal spot. In that unexpected and emotional moment, we felt the embrace of not just each other's love but also the love of those around us and God’s faithfulness. Following the Water Gardens, Andrew revealed yet another surprise—a celebration at Joe T Garcia's in the Stockyards. The ambiance of the Stockyards, where I had spent countless weekends during college and post grad, became the backdrop for an intimate gathering of family and friends. It was a night where the past intertwined with the present, and the thoughtful touches of friends who traveled near and far to celebrate us made it all the more special. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you—see y'all at The Nest!
