How We Met

Parker and Mary Clark met at the University of Georgia both graduating with degrees in Financial Planning. When given the nudge by Parker's twin brother, Payton, Parker and Mary Clark started hanging out January of their senior year. A month later, Parker would ask Mary Clark to be his girlfriend, and she said no. Parker asked again and she said no. It was not necessarily a no, it was just not the right time. Around Valentines Day, Parker made plans to ask Mary Clark to be his girlfriend one final time - little did Parker know that Mary Clark had plans of her own to ask him out the same night. What a story. Well, we can all see that it worked out for the happy couple. They started dating February 13th, and the rest is history. After graduation, distance kept them apart, but it only made their relationship stronger. Parker relocated to Buckhead in December, and Mary Clark followed shortly afterwards. Parker and Mary Clark enjoy cooking with each other, going on nightly walks, and hanging out with family and friends. On the weekends, you can see the two either at TJ Maxx, Goodwill, or Antique Shopping, per Mary Clark's request.

The Proposal

What a week it was leading up to the proposal. Parker had decided he was going to propose to Mary Clark over Labor Day weekend. Parker had planned a day in Atlanta with Mary Clark and their college friend, Nicole, with dinner plans back home at Lake Oconee. After dinner, Parker was going to propose, and all of their family and friends were going to be at Parker's parents house to celebrate. Early at the beginning of the week, Mary Clark made some very interesting comments such as, "The week goes by fast when you have something to look forward to", "I can't wait to marry you one day", and "I need to get my nails done." Was the surprise spoiled? Payton, Parker's twin brother, was working diligently on proposal site plans and decorations as well as party plans with their mom, Susan. We all had hopes Mary Clark did not know anything. The proposal site was an intimate setting at the stables in Harbor Club on Lake Oconee with candles, greenery, and champagne. Getting Mary Clark up there was somewhat of a struggle, but little did she actually know he was proposing. It was a true surprise! He asked, and she said "YES!" It was such a special moment shared between the two. Their family and friends were anxiously waiting down the street at Parker's parents house ready to celebrate and congratulate the happily engaged couple. It was such a fun and special night - and a very well kept secret!
