Gateway National Recreation Area - Sandy Hook
During the summer Sandy Hook has miles of beaches, but from 1874 to 1919, Sandy Hook also served as the U.S. Army’s first proving ground for testing new weapons and ordnance. You can drive to the end to visit the scenic park and old military fort, as well as a historic lighthouse!
