The Tradition of Money Spraying "Money spraying" is prominent in Nigerian weddings. During the reception, guests shower the bride and groom with cash as a form of celebration and blessings. It’s seen as a way to show love to the couple and wish them wealth, prosperity, and abundance. This tradition has grown into a custom that is deeply embedded in Nigerian wedding culture, with guests often actively participating in the spraying of money as part of the festivities. Anyone can participate! Please plan to bring small bills with you the venue if you would like to join in on this tradition or we will also have a table set up to exchange larger bills for smaller ones. Aso-ebi Wedding Attire The Bride & Groom, along with their Bridal Party, will change into Nigerian attire for part of the reception where we will have a DJ playing Nigerian and other African music. The Aso-ebi attire will consist of geles (traditional head ties) and hand fans for the bridesmaids.
All guests are welcome to wear either American or Nigerian attire for any part of the weekend. We encourage you to wear colorful attire if you are comfortable doing so for this vibrant celebration!
We will have both American and Nigerian food options at the reception, as well as a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There will be options for people who need gluten free, dairy free, and vegetarian food.
Kindly RSVP, here on our wedding website, by Friday, October 3rd so we can ensure our wedding plans reflect an accurate guest count. All invited guests will be able to RSVP once we send out our wedding invitations.
We want to ensure that our wedding takes into consideration the comfort of every guest who intends on attending. If we do not receive your RSVP by the deadline, we will assume you will not be attending and our final plans will reflect this.
We have already factored in how many plus-ones we can provide to each of our guests. If we're expecting you to bring a plus-one, you will be able to RSVP, here on our website, for yourself and a limited number of plus-ones. Unfortunately, our venue limits the amount of guests we can invite so we must stress that our wedding is an invite-only event where guests must RSVP by the October 3rd deadline. There will be a guest check-in process at our wedding.
Our wedding is strictly an adult only (21+ years old) event. We LOVE all of the children in our family and friend groups, but unfortunately we do not have space at the venue for everyone's child to be in attendance.
Our American Wedding Ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. We ask that all of our guests arrive and are seated no later than 4:45 PM.
There is a convenient but limited parking garage that is next to the venue, so we recommend to use a rideshare option or walk from your hotel.
Both the Wedding Ceremony and Reception are indoors.
We would love for you to take photos and share them with us. However, because we want to ensure our photographer and videographer get the best possible images, please refrain from taking photos during our ceremony. There will be lots of opportunities to take photos after the ceremony which we encourage!
If you have any questions not answered on our wedding website or you are having trouble RSVPing, you can email our Wedding Planner, Bisola, at guest@EventDesignByBE.com and someone will respond to you within two business days.
