Reynolda Village and Gardens is our favorite spot in Winston Salem. We highly recommend Dough Joes for the best doughnuts in town, Village Tavern for Lunch, and Theodores for cocktails. If you are interested in shopping, you can visit Monkee's, Half Past Three, and the Bookhouse. Hank also loves Reynolda Village for the trails through the woods or meadows, and to the beautiful campus of Wake Forest University. Of course, the gardens in the spring are incredibly beautiful and we highly recommend taking a stroll to enjoy the blooms. For art and history lovers, the Reynolda House Museum of American Art is a great option to learn more about Winston-Salem and to check out its current exhibits.
Old Salem is a historic site in Winston-Salem that was settled by a group of Moravians in 1766. You can find history museums, shopping, coffee, and Winston-Salem landmarks throughout the area, including the Old Salem Coffee Pot and God's Acre, the largest Moravian Cemetery in North Carolina.
Bailey Park has restaurants, bars, coffee, and more. Our personal favorites include Cugino Forno for Pizza, and Fair Witness for some cocktails. Most weekends you can find a crowd at Incendiary Brewing, and the coal pit often features some fun markets on Saturdays.
The BEST bakery you will find!! Get the cinnamon roll, you won't regret it.
We went to Fratellis on our anniversary and loved every minute! It's a great place for a steak and wine, or your favorite Italian dish.
Wise Man is a fun brewery in downtown Winston-Salem, and Alex swears they have the best beer in town! Mary Blake swears they select the best food trucks in town, too, so you can't go wrong.
