The Proposal

It was a normal Saturday in July for us... extremely HOT might I add. Forrest + his brother, Jacob, had gone golfing. My sisters were in town from Jackson, so we met for brunch + mimosas that morning. I begged them to go to the pool with me, but they both had excuses. Little did I know, they were working their little booties off on a surprise engagement party! I ended up going to the pool with my friend, Morgan, who bless her heart had to keep me entertained all day without being too obvious. For those who know me - you know keeping me distracted is almost impossible! The boys called us that afternoon + said they had made reservations for dinner at a local restaurant in walking distance from my loft apartment downtown. I rushed home + got all ready. Forrest came + met me at the apartment + asked if he could show me something he had seen earlier that day at Cooper Park. Me, being hardheaded, questioned why we had to walk the complete opposite direction of the restaurant to look at something - especially with it being so hot (did I mention it was 200 degrees?) + with me being starving. He begged + begged so I said okay, okay, okay let's go quickly. We walked out of the apartment + Forrest grabbed my hand. I remember giving him a look like "why are you trying to hold my hand when it's 200 degrees outside?". We arrived to the park and he turned toward me and held my hands. At this point, I still don't think I even had a clue what was going on until I saw Forrest tear up. AHH, then I knew that was it! Forrest got down on one knee + asked me to marry him! I was so excited, I didn't even give him a chance to put the ring on my finger and literally grabbed it myself. Forrest quietly said “they’re taking our picture” + i turned around to photographers coming out of the bushes. After taking many photo's, we went to my best friends house for a suprise engagment party with all of our closest family + friends. It was a night we will both never forget! xoxo- MB

Update-

Hi friends + family! Due to the rising number of cases and restrictions from COVID-19, we have to limit our wedding to the wedding party and immediate family. After the planning and postponement and then planning again, this is the only option we have. On the bright side, on August 8, we will be married 🤍 We are now making plans to livestream the ceremony for friends and relatives that can’t attend. We appreciate the prayers of everyone and pray that you all stay safe and healthy 💕
