We first met at our previous workplace years ago. We started to get to know each other until we became friends. Over time, we found deeper connection confiding in each other and finding comfort in being with each other's presence. At the same time, we grew so close that we laugh about nonsensical things and argue for no reason. The next thing we know, we're already in love. It's funny how we can't remember the exact date when we first met or when we became more than friends. All we know is that it's eight years already. Maybe, that's what happens when you're not looking for love, but growing into love. You didn't know you're building something so special. We always joke around that there's nothing magical about our love story. It's probably one of the simplest being told. But this simple story of ours got us this far. It's not magic, we built it.
If proposals are movies, they should be romantic. But ours is an exception. It's comedy. We were in an out of town trip with our family in Cebu last April 2018. We visited 10,000 Roses Cafe and as soon as it got dark enough for these roses to light up, Calvin got down on one knee and popped the question. The curious crowd was gathering around us. While everyone's expecting the lucky girl to tear up as she says yes, she cracked up and had no reply. Maybe, she couldn't contain her kilig that she ended up laughing and forgot to answer. It didn't turn out the way we see it in movies, but looking back, it was one of the best days of our lives. At least we have one epic proposal story to tell, and probably you'll say we're the least romantic couple you'll ever met. Of course, it was a yes. That's why we're here. :)
