We met in the Fall of 2012 after being blindly set up together for one of Joe's fraternity's events. We started dating the following semester and the rest is history! It's been an incredible 9 years together and we are so excited to see what this new chapter of our life as husband and wife brings.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic Joe and I were finally able to find a weekend to visit my family in the Washington, DC area in early October. Since it had been a few months since we had last seen my parents, the plan was to go on a family walk around the monuments, starting with the Jefferson Memorial [my favorite one!]. As we were walking along the water Joe let go of my hand and before I knew it he was on one knee asking me to marry him! Right after I said "YES!" I heard cheers from the memorial steps. At first I thought it was strangers congratulating us, but as they got closer I realized that Joe had invited some of our best friends and his parents to also be a part of our special day as well. We were surrounded by so much love on our special day and the location and weather couldn't have been more perfect!
