On a snowy day in December of 2014 Cody decided we should go on a drive up to McCall. We piled in the car with the dogs and headed up to winter wonderland. He wanted to show me where the church campground was so we stopped up on lake cascade. We let the dogs out and as we were about to go down onto the beach Cody said he had to go use the restroom first and I should head down. Being the crazy dog mom I am, I started snapping pictures of the dogs. I was in the middle of a beautiful panoramic of the mountain reflecting off the frozen lake when I heard him walk up behind me. He asked me what I was doing and I replied that I was taking a picture of the view. He laughed and asked, "how's this view?" As I turned around to look at him I saw him down on one knee in the sand holding a little red box with a sparkling ring that signified that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I covered my mouth in shock as he proceeded to cry and pop my favorite question he's ever asked me, "Will you marry me?" I teared up and muttered yes as I threw my arms around him. It was almost 5 years ago and I still remember every detail. He even hid a dress shirt and tie under his sweater that day! We spent the day laughing, smiling, and falling more in love with the idea of our future. Our story was handcrafted by the the amazing love God has for us. He brought our hearts together, and I couldn't feel more blessed that he gave me a man I not only love but get to call my best friend to spend forever with.
