Randy and I met at a Halloween party our sophomore year of college, through mutual friends. We spoke for a few weeks after, but I didn't think much of it because we both went to different schools and would never see each other. Well, little did we know 2 years later (thank you Snapchat), that we would have so much in common and begin talking every day. Bonding over our love of UNC basketball and football, we decided to meet up at one of the games. Randy was there supporting one of his high school friends and I was there with my family. We met up during the 4th quarter of the football game and the rest is history!

Randy surprised me with a trip to Wrightsville Beach, NC for my 25th birthday. We were going to stay at a beachfront resort and it was going to be perfect. Well, that week COVID-19 decided to change our plans. 3 months later after being quarantined for what felt like our whole lives, we decided to make the trip happen. We would be spending all of our time on the beach anyway, so who cared what was open or not. On our first full day, we went house hunting and lounged on the sand. By the end of the afternoon, we decided to go up to the room to get ready and have a drink before dinner, oh yeah, and take a walk to the point. We left for our walk and I spotted something up by the dunes and Randy, of course, said "Let's go check it out." As we got closer, I could see a bottle of champagne and roses and I knew this was something serious, but not yet that it was for me. I felt uncomfortable getting too close, so I told Randy we should turn around and keep walking to the point. He said no, and as we got closer I could start to tell this romantic set up was for me. I immediately started crying, realizing this moment was finally happening. Randy got down on one knee and I SAID YES!
