How We Met

First Grade to Now!

Mary- "Tripp has always been my best friend, from first grade to now. Tripp and I were in the same first grade class, where we first met. He had my eye from day one. Every single day, my mom would pack me a delicious lunch, that came with a sandwich, chips (of my choice), a fruit, and a cookie. One day my mom packed me frito's (I absolutely hated frito's). I remember opening my lunch and not wanting to eat the frito's, when I see Tripp approaching me and asking me for them. I didn't hesitate and just handed him my frito's, I just loved the attention I got from the boy I thought was "so cute". From then on, I went home every single day, asking my mom to pack me frito's in my lunch, just so I could give them to Tripp. I went from "hating frito's" to not wanting a lunch unless they were packed in my lunchbox. Funny enough now, I love frito's and Tripp doesn't care for them... funny how that works! He had me at "Frito's" haha! Fast forward, Tripp and I remained best friends and were almost inseparable, especially living down the street from one another. We were both in long term relationships, so I never thought more of him than a friend, but out of college, Tripp became single and our friendship became closer and soon after, I became single and honestly the rest is history. I am truly marrying my best friend of 17 years and I truly feel like the most blessed woman in the world, he is truly the most amazing person inside and out." Tripp- "Mary and I originally met in first grade. We lived several houses down from each other and were in the same first-grade class. Mary and I were always best friends. As time passed, we would always do everything together from spending countless days out on Lake Mcqueeney to just hanging out for hours on hours after school. I never thought of Mary as anything more than a best friend, but as time went on and we graduated college, our bond became closer and closer. Mary and I started to hangout every day, and eventually, I started to catch serious feelings for my very best "girlfriend". The very beginning of our relationship was definitely a big change for the both of us, considering we went from best friends to dating. Although, once we both committed that we were going to move forward as a couple, it has truly been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I knew immediately that she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Now, after all these years, I'm getting ready to marry my true best friend, and I can't believe how lucky I am. Mary is not only the most beautiful girl in the world, but the most amazing person I know inside and out"

The Proposal

2.17.2023

On February 17th, Tripp and I made a weekend trip to Lake Mcqueeney and on our way there, we stopped in San Antonio on the 16th for the night and had a delicious dinner on the river followed with a walk around the river. I thought maybe this would be the special night (although it was not), we left Saturday morning (the 17th) to head to Mcqueeney. On our way we got lunch and made our way to a beautiful park, which I was unaware that we were making a quick stop, which would turn into being one of the best moments of my life. Tripp and I got out of the car where he said we should walk around drinking our coffee together. I feel like I knew this moment was about to happen, and I was so nervous yet SO excited! Tripp got on one knee and I pretty much blacked out when he was talking because all I could think about was just saying "Yes, Yes, Yes I will marry my best friend!" It was the easiest and best decision I've ever made and we can't wait for our special day!
