Our first date (non-date) we refer to as such because we both tried to invite others so it wouldn't be a date. It ended up being our first date anyway, with Trevor's first glimpse of Mary being her shoving her face full of Popeyes chicken. He then knew he had a special woman on his hands, even more so when she laughed in a silent theater after an extremely violent scene. Mary was shocked that she didn't scare him away. Our friendship grew and we continued to see each other (this time without attempting to invite others). One day, after spending the day showing each other our favorite movies, Trevor asked Mary to be his girlfriend. She was going to say yes, but wanting to be cool, responded with "Can I get back to you in 5 to 10 business days?". While she promptly forgot her response, Trevor was left in turmoil not knowing where their relationship stood. A few days later Trevor had a family gathering which he invited Mary to. When they were getting ready to leave he said "I know it's only been 4 business days, but how should I introduce you?" Mary stared at him blankly and then realized that she never said yes to being his girlfriend. She laughed and said "I thought the answer was obvious. Of course it's a yes!". <3
