Mary and Tim met in the most unexpected of ways. Mary was visiting her friend (and bridesmaid) Casey at the University of Pittsburgh. Casey was wanting to show Mary what Pitt was like and brought her to a party across the alley. yes, literally as close as an alley. Unknown to Mary, this is where Tim lived. If you ask Mary she will say she remembers the first time she saw Tim, wearing a Pittsburgh football jersey with a fresh haircut, one of the tallest in the room. If you ask Tim, he also remembers seeing Mary for the first time. Tim says he remembers her cute braided hair, infectious laugh, and adorable Pitt cheerleader skirt and shirt that first day. Though they both took notice to each other, they didn't talk at all until the next day. This is when Casey realized that Tim seemed to be tagging along to activities much more than usual.... hmmmm...... The rest of the weekend was spent having fun, watching football and it just so happened that Mary and Tim were together the whole time. Mary even extended her trip until Monday night (thanks to COVID and online classes). Mary reluctantly went home, not wanting to leave this potential blossoming relationship. She was so reluctant to leave that she decided to make the 4 hour drive back to Pittsburgh just 3 days later. Her excuse of course, Tim's upcoming birthday :). This second trip was a special one because Tim got to meet Marys puppy Ollie (who now likes Tim much more than Mary). Once the very short weekend came to an end Mary went home. Tim decided it was his turn to come up to Rochester NY, the only problem is that he did not have a car at school, so he opted for the greyhound bus to bring him to "sunny" Rochester. This is when Mary knew it was for real, because who takes a 8 hour bus ride for someone they aren't serious about. Then, there was the avocado toast incident and if you know then you know :). After that I think both Mary and Tim knew they were in it for the long haul! A few short months later Tim decided that he would move to Rochester after graduation to be close to Mary. After landing a stellar job, he was in Rochester to stay. One year passes and Mary and Tim move into a house in Brighton NY. With a nice back yard for their now two year old dog Ollie. October of 2022 Mary and Tim decide to take a trip to Charleston SC to celebrate Tims birthday, their first real vacation. Tim however had other plans and on Saturday October 15th 2022 he pulled off the most amazing, surprising and storybook proposal Mary could dream of. Her answer of course: YES They have spent past months together working on home renovations, and planning the wedding of their (well really Mary's) dreams.
