As well as being my actual brother, it is an honor and a privilege to be in the same household as Matthew. He has been one of my best friends since high school, and having him around in college my senior year was one of my favorite things. It is truly a blessing when your sister is also one of your closest friends. Teresa and I have always gotten along, but in recent years have developed a very strong friendship. She makes me laugh until I cry, while constantly challenging me to be a better person. I have never met anyone with the determination and work ethic she has. I always say that although she is younger, I truly look up to her. Thank you Teresa for being my Maid of Honor!! The dance floor doesn’t know what’s about to hit it!!! Seannie is the youngest of 5 in the Hostutler clan. Sean is basically a skinnier and younger version of me. Knowing we get to be roommates whenever I come home for breaks, makes for an entertaining visit. Seeing how excited he was when I asked him to be a groomsman is one of my highlights. I call Bernadette my “mini me.” There is no doubt when we are together that we are sisters. We may look alike, but she is way more talented than me in many ways! She is a loyal friend, good listener, and one of the most compassionate people I know. I always look forward to going home for breaks, but knowing I get to spend time with Bernadette is one of the biggest reasons why. Thank you Bay for standing by side. DJ is number 4 of 5 in our big ole family, and one of the brightest. I taught Mary how to play chess this summer, and then he ended up beating her in 3 moves. We both have an abnormally strong passion for the Ravens, and ended up being able to go to a game together this past year. I am so honored to have Katie by my side. Katie is Stephen’s only sister. I feel a special bond with Katie knowing that I will be her first sister. She could use another female to level her out in a family of boys! Katie is also a teacher which made me love her the moment I met her. She is loving and fun. I couldn’t imagine a better future sister. I am so excited to grow closer to Katie and her husband in the future! I am so thankful God gave me you, Katie! Uncle D, as he likes to be called, is one of my best friends. We knew each other since Freshman year of college but didn’t really interact with one another until Junior year. It is one of those relationships where after one conversation, we knew we would be friends for a long time. Christina, more commonly known as Tuna, is one of my very greatest blessings. She has been my best friend since second grade. She knows me better than I know myself. As 8 year olds, we planned to have a double wedding. Although that desire eventually changed, Christina recently got engaged and married this past year. We are both so excited to be entering this new stage together. It is such a special gift! She, and her husband, are a beautiful example of a holy, loving couple. Johnny Boy and my friendship started off the summer of 2015 and has been strong ever since. John is the reason I met Mary in the first place. I am forever in his debt for introducing me to the greatest person I’ve ever known (no offense). John and I were roommates my first year out of college in Cleveland, OH, and I loved every second of it. John also was the one to take the fantastic (very candid) engagement pictures. Hannah and I often thank God for each other because we didn’t know that someone so perfect for us existed. Hannah is my other half. When we are together, nothing else matters. She makes me love life. Hannah would do anything for her friends. She has taught me loyalty and generosity. I have lived with Hannah for the past two and half years in Phoenix, and will miss her terribly. Ever since 5th grade, Danny and I have been by each other’s side. Countless hangouts, summer canoeing adventures and our shared passion of Norte Dame sports have cemented our friendship forever. Danny took vacation days and was the one to help me move cross country to Colorado, August of 2018. I can not be more grateful for our friendship. They say wisdom comes with age, but Catherine breaks that stereotype. Catherine’s guidance throughout my relationship with Stephen, and life in general over the past two years, has been such a true gift. Living with Catherine in Phoenix for two and a half years taught me more about how to be a woman of God than she will ever know. Her faith and way of loving others is inspiring. His constant advice, humor, golf tips and amazing talent to always have a speech ready when the moment comes, makes me thrilled to be related. Katie is, and always will be, one of my dearest friends. She truly has a heart of gold. Katie and I met through Education classes at Franciscan. We would spend one to two hours after class just chatting. Those chats let to an incredible friendship, and the start of our teaching careers together. Katie and I decided to follow the warm weather after college and ended up in Phoenix. We have lived together the past four years. She has truly helped me become the teacher, and woman I am today.
