We're Engaged!

In high school, Patrick and Mary loved to go on hikes and explore local landmarks on dates. At 16 and 17 years old, there wasn't many options for date night! One Saturday in 2020, Patrick drove Mary down to Kalmia Botanical Garden in Hartsville, SC. There, they experienced the beautiful gardens, saw the natural artesian well, and walked the boardwalk through the beautiful SC swamplands. However, before they could finish their walk, it began pouring with rain and the couple had to run for cover under the entryway to the gardens. Though their walk was cut short, they laughed off the disruption and went home, picking up dinner on the way. Five years later, Patrick and Mary finally got to finish their walk at Kalmia Gardens! On Saturday, July 26th, Patrick told Mary to get ready - Today was the day! She had been dreaming of this moment for six years! He didn't tell her where they were going, just to wear her dream engagement dress and get in the car (good thing she planned ahead and bought one - just in case). As Patrick drove, Mary slowly started to realize where they were headed. When they pulled into the gardens, Mary already had tears in her eyes. They walked through the beautiful white columns into the garden and Patrick dropped down on one knee. It was the best day ever!
