OBX was the first vacation Noah and I took together. It is a magical place with awe inspiring beauty. We are so excited to share it with you all. You can get in the car and drive down hwy 12 for some of the best views or try and see all 6 lighthouses. We have also created a list of some fun things to do in the area. I could not include everything so please reach out with any questions!
Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
46379 Lighthouse Road, Buxton, NC 27920
This is our favorite lighthouse in OBX. It is currently getting restored so you may not be able to see it during our stay but we will update our website closer to the wedding.
Ocracoke Island
Irvin Garrish Hwy, Ocracoke, NC 27960
Take the ferry from the bottom of the Outer Banks down to Ocracoke Island for a day-long adventure exploring the perfect tiny coastal town. Or try and find the mass grave containing infamous pirate Black Beard.
Causeway Watersports
7649 South Virginia Dare Trail, Nags Head, NC 27959
Rent jet skis, boats, go tubing or go para sailing!
See wild horses abandoned by Spanish shipwrecks! You can drive yourself to the beaches or schedule a tour and go out in a 4x4
Wright Brothers National Memorial
1000 North Croatan Highway, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948
Right by our wedding venue; wind, sand, and a dream of flight brought Wilbur and Orville Wright to Kitty Hawk where they achieved the first successful airplane flights
The Waterfront Shops
1240 Duck Road, Duck, NC 27949
A soundside, picturesque boardwalk lined with boutiques and restaurants.
Lost Colony: Roanoke Island
1 Festival Park, Manteo, NC 27954
Try to find the 400 year old colony that vanished without a trace. You can also see living history with a recreated settlement site.
Bodie Island Lighthouse
8210 Bodie Island Lighthouse Road, Nags Head, NC 27959
The lighthouse closest to our rental home. You can climb all 214 steps to the top for some epic beach and sound views.
