Ninos and Mary’s love story began in the most unexpected place—McDonald’s! On August 23rd, 2022, they met at a Cubs game during a summer outing from McDonald’s HQ in Chicago. Mary, only 2 days into the job and unfamiliar with anyone, encountered Ninos, a friendly new coworker. As Mary was busy getting to know her new colleagues, they exchanged a few words. Fast forward a few months, and their friendship was blossoming. They sat in the same row of desks in the office, and their weekly work Happy Hours soon became the highlight of their weeks. On November 7th, the two began to date. The next 1.5 years were a whirlwind of shared adventures. They added a second dog into their family, moved in together, and even continued to work on the same floor at McDonald's Headquarters. They shared endless adventures and happy moments together. Their proposal took place on July 22nd, 2024, during a two-week trip to Italy for their close friends' wedding. They decided to extend their stay with a few days in Positano on the Amalfi Coast. Early one morning, Ninos suggested a walk to the pier for a sunrise photo before the ferries arrived. With their Airbnb perched high on a hill, they made their way down the steep staircases to the beach. When they reached the pier, Ninos got down on one knee and proposed. While the exact words were lost in the moment, Mary’s enthusiastic “Yes!” made it clear. It was an extraordinary, unforgettable moment that marked the beginning of their future together.
