There are more than 6,000 miles between our hometowns of San Pedro, California and Silva Jardim, Brazil. But our journey towards each other was set in motion, we just didn’t know it yet. It all began on November 15, 2019, when Nathan, who was visiting California from Brazil, swiped right on Mary’s profile on Tinder (crazy, right?!). What started as a casual conversation soon turned into something more— we quickly realized how easy it was to talk to one another, share stories, and laugh for hours. Our connection was undeniable. In December 2020, after over a year of dating, Nathan planned a surprise for Mary. While visiting Las Vegas, he whisked her away on a helicopter ride over the sparkling city lights. In that moment, above the bright glow of the Strip, Nathan asked Mary to spend forever with him. Of course, she said yes. The following year, in 2021, Nathan and Mary tied the knot in an intimate ceremony during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. They were unable to invite their friends and family, but their love was all that mattered in that moment. Although the day was beautiful, they both knew they wanted to celebrate their love with everyone they hold dear—just not in the way they had originally imagined. Now, as they celebrate five years together, they’re making up for lost time by throwing the wedding of their dreams. It’s not just a celebration of their love, but of the journey they’ve shared, and the memories they’ve made. This time, they’re surrounded by the people who have supported them from the start, as they create even more cherished moments on their special day. We hope you can come celebrate with us in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!
