We're Getting Married!

Mason and I met back in 2014 when we attended the same church in Woodland, Washington. We quickly became friends and would often talk after youth group and joke around with each other. Fun fact: We were such good friends that we called each other "Brother Mason" and "Sister Mary". Don't worry we've since ditched those nicknames!

We didn't see or speak to each other again until 2019 when I reached out to Mason on a whim. We immediately hit it off, as if no time had passed since we last spoke. To my surprise, Mason asked me on a date the same day I reached out to him. After that first date we both knew there were going to be many more. On August 17th, 2019 Mason asked me to be his girlfriend. I didn't give him an answer until the next day, for the suspense, but of course I said yes! Since then we've gone on multiple trips, had a million movie nights during quarantine, and even helped our dog Koda give birth to nine puppies together! In all the craziness and uncertainty that 2020 brought for everyone, we've always been certain of each other.

In December, 2019 Mason flew out to Oklahoma to spend Christmas with my family. There he asked my parents for their blessing to marry me. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances due to the pandemic ruined his initial plan to propose in March, 2020. So Mason waited until the right moment. In July, Mason began throwing me off the scent by telling me he didn't know if he would be able to propose anytime soon because we were both so busy and he couldn't pick out a ring. The very next day, Mason invited me to go with him and our close friends, Richard and Amanda, to the waterfront to walk and get lunch. I cluelessly agreed. We ended up going to Beaches restaurant in Vancouver, WA and while we waited for our table we walked along the beach where he asked me to marry him! I didn't hesitate to say yes that time! Six years ago we had no idea that we would marry each other one day. We're so thankful that God brought us together again at the perfect time in both of our lives. We can't wait to celebrate with you all as we officially start our life together!
