Sugarloaf Mountain

Marquette, MI 49855

Marquette is full of excellent hikes and beautiful views. One shining example is Sugarloaf Mountain. The trailhead for Sugarloaf is just a few miles from downtown Marquette, the turnoff from county road 550 is well marked, and it's a relatively quick hike to the top where you're rewarded with one of the best views in the Upper Peninsula.

Moose Rapids Campground

County Road LG, Republic, MI 49879
, (906) 376-8827

Depending on the water level, you can kayak from the Moose Rapids Campground back down to CedarHurst Lodge. That's a picture of Larry, above, kayaking down the river!

Republic Mine

MI 49879

Republic Mine Observation Site. Overlooking the open pit mine in Republic, just south of Munson Park. The open pit nime is now filled with water. A raised platform offers impressive views of the Mine property and Republic area. Etched signs describe the mining process.
