How we met

It all began in 2018 at Silky Sullivan. On a simple night out with mutual friends, we crossed paths over drinks—never realizing how meaningful that moment would become. From there, countless evenings were spent laughing, sharing stories, and closing down the bar with our closest friends. Back then, we had no idea those carefree nights would lead us here. By the end of that year, life took Mary to Oakland to begin a new career, and we went our separate ways—but not for long. The following year Jessie’s work brought him to the Bay Area, and while he was in town, he decided to visit. On October 24, 2019, we met for dinner at Kinja Sushi—just two friends catching up. Little did we know, that casual meal would become our very first date. For years we stayed friends, always connected despite the distance and the chaos of life. Eventually Mary moved back to Southern California, and we reconnected frequently visiting our beloved Silkys. By 2021, we finally made it official—and everything fell into place. Being together felt easy, natural, and familiar, like comfort was built in from the start. We’ve always shared that perfect blend of harmony, an easy rhythm, and a spark that never faded—matched in our madness, matched in our love, even if we were too stubborn to admit it at first. Since then, we’ve been busy building a life we love—filled with shared routines, late-night conversations, and adventures around the world. Together, we’ve wandered Hawaii’s beaches, Montana’s mountains, and the energetic hubs of Washington and Nevada. We’ve savored the charm of Louisiana and Tennessee, felt the pulse of New York and New Jersey, and immersed ourselves in the rich culture and unforgettable flavors of Vietnam. We’ve embraced the wide-open spirit of Texas, the laid-back beauty of Oregon, and the breathtaking landscapes of Ireland and France—and this is only the beginning. Every place we visit becomes part of our story, but home has always been wherever we’re together. Now, we can’t wait to begin this next chapter—surrounded by the people who have been part of our journey from the very beginning.
