Some love stories begin with a whirlwind romance, but ours was written in the little moments—growing up together, building a friendship, and slowly discovering that something more had been there all along. We grew up together, attending the same church, Saint Monica’s, but it wasn’t until middle school that our paths truly intertwined. Mary’s younger sister, Elizabeth, was best friends with Jackson’s younger sister, Sutton. Their close friendship ultimately led to Mary’s parents transferring her to Saint John Bosco Academy—where Jackson was already a student. One of our first real memories of each other was in eighth grade when Mary helped Jackson unload his mom’s car for the school play. At the time, we were just classmates, but looking back, it was the start of a friendship that would shape our lives in ways we never expected. As the years passed, our friendship remained strong. We were part of the same friend group, attended the same church events, and shared a close-knit community. Eventually, both of our parents enrolled us in catechism classes, and every Wednesday, we somehow always found ourselves sitting next to each other, learning more about one another with each passing week. One evening at youth group, we listened to a talk about finding "the one." The speaker said something that stuck with us: "It always happens when you least expect it. It could be your best friend. One day, something will change, and you may look at each other differently." At the time, we never imagined how true those words would become—but little by little, something did change. As we got older, we both started working at Chick-fil-A. We spent hours on the POS system taking orders, but in the slow moments, we talked, laughed, and shared our lives. Looking back, it was the beginning of something, though we didn’t realize it at the time. Then, one day, everything shifted. We began to see each other differently. Friendship turned into something more. Mary invited Jackson to her sister’s wedding, and after that, we went to every school dance together. And the rest, as they say, is history. Now, almost seven years later, we are planning our dream wedding, ready to start this next beautiful chapter together. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you!
