Mary and Daniel met at Catholic Central High School in 2018 in their band class. After having class together for a while Daniel asked Mary to go to the Homecoming dance with him that fall.  After a fun night of laughing, dancing, and spending time with the friends they loved, Daniel asked Mary out on a date the following week! Although the date, a bad movie at the theater and pizza dinner, was stereotypical, they connected and got to know each other in a deeper way than before. As time went on and more dates occurred their closeness grew and Daniel finally asked Mary to be his girlfriend! Daniel and Mary began to spend more and more time together after school outside of dates and Mary met Daniel’s family while Daniel met Mary’s. After a few “I love yous”, school dances, and many memories made together, Covid-19 rocked the world, which only deepened Mary and Daniel’s connection with each other through the medium of lots of conversations and facetime calls due to quarantine. Eventually Daniel graduated high school and went off to community college in Grand Rapids, while Mary continued her last year of high school. Although they didn’t see each other in the halls, they continued to find new ways to keep up with each other and interact, building their relationship up further. Mary followed Daniel, graduating from Catholic Central and moved to Holland, Michigan to attend Hope College, while Daniel moved to downtown Grand Rapids. Even though the distance between them grew, their bond and love grew with it. After a few years of seeing each other whenever there was free time and keeping up as best as they could, Daniel had saved enough money to buy Mary the ring she deserved after all those years of distance between houses, happy memories, highs and lows and adventures together. While going on a camping trip to Glen Arbor, Daniel brought Mary to the top of the Sleeping Bear Dunes where he popped the question and asked Mary to marry him. After shock, tears of excitement, and laughter, Mary said yes! Mary is still attending Hope College on the Pre-Med track while Daniel is working full time at the Cadillac Dealership in town, and their love and connection continue to deepen and intensify each day as their big day grows closer. As the wedding draws near, Mary and Daniel are excitedly preparing to undergo the beautiful sacrament of Holy Matrimony and accept God and all of His blessings in their relationship and beyond.
