A family-friendly must for museum and art lovers! You could easily spend a few hours browsing the exhibits, especially since there is a restaurant in the main lobby and a bar with drinks, coffee, pastries, and other snacks further into the museum. Don’t have a ton of time but still want to check out the AKG? We recommend grabbing a coffee or pastry in the main lobby, which is open to the public and absolutely gorgeous, and eating in Delaware Park just behind the museum.
The best wings you can get in the city, in our humble opinion! We highly recommend dining in; Gabe’s Gate has one of the quirkiest atmospheres in one of the quirkiest neighborhoods in Buffalo. Dining in will also help you avoid mushy wings. If it’s a nice day, ask to sit on the backyard patio!
Fun and highly interactive children’s museum just a short drive from the recommended hotels in downtown Buffalo.
Duende is a cocktail bar nestled between abandoned grain silos on one side and an undeveloped nature preserve (I think?) on the other side. It may not sound glamorous, but Duende is the definition of a diamond in the rough. If you’re into history, industrial spaces, and great drinks, we highly recommend trying out this hidden gem.
