Lake Bde Maka Ska
Minneapolis' largest lake, this is just one of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes. Circled by bike and walking trails, you can go swimming at one of the beaches or rent a canoe, kayak or paddle board to enjoy time on the water.
Summit Avenue
Summit Avenue has the longest preserved stretch of Victorian homes in the US. Take a walk along this street and admire the beautiful mansions, including railroad tycoon James J Hill's house, which is now a museum. Grand Avenue runs 1 block parallel to Summit Avenue and has many shops and restaurants.

For casual food and a fun atmosphere, you can't beat the Nook. Enjoy a famous cheese-stuffed Juicy Lucy burger (invented in Minnesota). This restaurant has a bowling alley in the basement and is located around the corner from Mary's high school Cretin-Derham Hall.
