Answer

Please wear cocktail attire. Think stylish dresses, dress pants with a blazer, dress shirts, and dress shoes.

Question

Can I change into something more comfortable to dance in?

Answer

Absolutely! We encourage that you bring sweats, t-shirts, tennis shoes, or anything you feel comfortable dancing in! There is a bathroom inside and a bathroom outside to change into your clothes.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Your invitation will clarify if you may bring a plus-one.

Question

Are children allowed or is this a child-free wedding?

Answer

Mary has made an exception for a few mothers to bring their newborns to the wedding, but otherwise, it will be a child free wedding. This is your night to get a babysitter and enjoy yourselves!

Question

What's on the menu?

Answer

There will be appetizers starting at 3 pm. The appetizers will be smash burger sliders, goat cheese puffs, collard green wontons, and house deviled eggs. The appetizers will be served to you by waitstaff. Dinner will start at 4 pm and will be buffet-style. For dinner, we will have pepper seared Angus beef tenderloin, pasta (with no meat), shrimp and grits, and a mashed potato bar (Mary loves her starches!). For dessert, there will be a dessert bar with a featured cheesecake, banana pudding, and a chocolate mousse.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

It will be a pleasant, autumn afternoon reaching a high of 74 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and a low of 51 degrees at night. Please bring a jacket for the evening.

Question

Will the reception be indoor or outdoor?

Answer

The ceremony for the wedding will be indoors in a Catholic Church. The reception will be indoor/outdoor. There is also a pool outdoors. If you would like to take a plunge in the pool, please bring a swimsuit!

Question

Am I invited to the rehearsal dinner?

Answer

Due to the space limitations of our venue, we unfortunately have to limit the rehearsal dinner guest list to those who will be playing a role in the ceremony and close family visiting from out of state.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

At the church, there will be a parking lot next to the church. For the reception, at the venue there will be parking available on the grounds of the mansion.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Mary and Bobby do not have a registry. Your presence is enough, but if you would like to give a monetary gift, it would be appreciated. Under the registry tab of our website, you can contribute a monetary gift via Venmo (under the "funds for our future") or via debit card (for honeymoon funds). If you would like to give a gift and/or card, you may bring it to the wedding or mail it to the following address: 14225 Lora Drive Apt 45 Los Gatos, CA 95032.

Question

Will the ceremony and the reception take place at the same location?

Answer

Unfortunately, the ceremony and reception will take place at two separate locations. The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:30 at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. If you're not comfortable attending the ceremony or would prefer to just join the celebration afterward and skip the ceremony, that's completely okay with us. The reception will begin at 3 pm with the serving of appetizers and dinner to follow at 4 pm. An open bar will also be available starting at 3 pm. A cigar bar will be available starting at 6 pm and will end at 9 pm.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! There will be featured cocktails. The first featured cocktail is in honor of Mary's late cat, Grypphon, the Grypph-n-Tonic. The remaining cocktails are in honor of Mary and Bobby's cats: Brushy, Minnie, and Mango. Brushy's beers, Minnie Mai Tai, and a Mango Margarita. For beer options there will be Michelob Ultra and Miller Lite. For wine options there will be Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Rose. For seltzer options, white claws will be available.

Question

Will transportation be provided to and from the hotel, ceremony, and reception?

Answer

Mary and Bobby will not be providing transportation. We suggest car-pooling or using Uber/Lyft.

Question

I still have questions. What is the best way to contact me?

Answer

The best way to contact Mary is via cell phone or email. You are welcome to call or text Mary at 864-764-9518. Mary's email is alexandh1987@gmail.com

Question

What should I wear to the church ceremony?

Answer

The Catholic church is unfortunately particular about not showing your shoulders. The church is asking for guests and members of the wedding party to cover their shoulders when in the church with a shawl or jacket or have an outfit with sleeves. The rehearsal at the church (not at the reception venue) requires shoulders to be covered.
