Question

Where is everything happening?

Answer

Head of the Rapids Group Center | St. Croix State Park 30065 St. Croix Park Road Hinckley, MN 55037 This is a large private cabin-style campground in Minnesota's biggest state park. There are group bathrooms with showers, sinks, and flush toilets (and a couple of private bathrooms without showers), a large central dining hall with a big kitchen, and many family-style cabins with double beds. Electricity is available in the dining hall, the craft hall, and a couple of the cabins. Wi-fi and cell service are limited. Check out this doc for pictures and details! https://shorturl.at/PWves

Question

How far away is it from the Twin Cities?

Answer

St. Croix State Park is roughly 1 hour and 30 minute drive from downtown Minneapolis. Once you enter the state park, it takes another 30 minutes to drive to the group center. Lots of people will be carpooling - let us know if a ride would be helpful and we'll make sure to connect you!

Question

Will there be cell phone service?

Answer

Cell phone service inside the park can be spotty at times.

Question

Will there be parking?

Answer

Yes, plenty.

Question

My cabin does not have electricity. Where can I charge my stuff?

Answer

We will have a cell phone charging station inside the main dining hall and inside the craft building. Access to these buildings will be 24/7 while we are staying here.

Question

Are the cabins single-family?

Answer

The cabins available are small group cabins, so you may end up sharing with another family or some friends of ours. If you want introductions to some people you'll likely get along with, let us know!

Question

Will there be food?

Answer

Why, yes! So much food! Saturday night we will be having salad and pizza, and probably busting into the s'mores supplies. Sunday morning, there will be breakfast pastries, yogurt, fruit, coffee and tea. Sunday lunch will be catered crepes, with both sweet and savory options. Sunday dinner will be a variety of delicious appetizers and tacos from a taco truck. Dessert will be s'mores and an ice cream sundae buffet. Monday will be more "potluck style". We will have leftovers, chips and basic sandwich ingredients. We'll probably organize a group trip to the nearby town of Hinckley to pick up take out and/or a few little groceries. You're also welcome to bring food of your own and/or food to share! There are three large refrigerators and a large freezer in the central kitchen, which everyone will have access to. All meals will have gluten free and vegetarian options. If you've got allergies or dietary considerations that we may not know about, please tell us!
