Things To Do

Cannon Beach

Cannon Beach, OR

If you've got time while you're in town, the rugged and beautiful Oregon coast is a must visit. It's a scenic 1.5 hour drive from Portland. Visit Ecola Seafood for lunch and treat yourself to a decadent chocolate treat at the Chocolate Cafe before you drive back to Portland. Take a long walk on the beach south toward Haystack Rock, or drive up to Ecola State Park for some amazing views! Andrew and Mary have had several day trips dates to the coast and it's always a lovely time.

Timberline Lodge

27500 E Timberline Road, Government Camp, OR 97028

If you want to check out Mt. Hood, take a drive up to Timberline Lodge (which you may recognize from The Shining...). Enjoy Mt. Hood forest on the way up and take in the breathtaking views from the top.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters

3356 Southeast Belmont Street, Portland, OR 97214

Not many places are as quintessentially "Portland" as Stumptown. This was our first date spot :). Grab a coffee and walk around the (usually) beautiful Laurelhurst Park. We hope you enjoy the walk as much as we did!

Eem - Thai BBQ & Cocktails

3808 North Williams Avenue, Portland, OR 97227

Need some mouthwateringly delicious Thai street food? We know just the place! You can't go wrong with the White Curry with Brisket Burnt Ends or the Sweet & Sour Fried Chicken at one of our favorite date spots.

Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden

5801 Southeast 28th Avenue, Portland, OR 97202

We love visiting the rhododendron garden! From the parks site: Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden is "[a] unique nine acre garden containing an outstanding collection of rare species and hybrid rhododendrons, azaleas, and other lesser-known shrubs, as well as many companion plants and unusual trees."

Hawthorne Asylum Food Cart Pod

1080 Southeast Madison Street, Portland, OR 97214

Portland has MANY great food cart pods, but this is one of our favorites. Try Andrew's favorite (the Beef Bulgogi Burrito from Korean Twist) or one of Mary's favorites (the dumplings from Pelmeni Pelmeni or the truly delicious Mac&Cheese - to which you can add jalapeños and chicken and bacon if you desire - from Montage Ala Cart).

Ken's Artisan Bakery

338 Northwest 21st Avenue, Portland, OR 97209

If you're in search of delicious baked goods, look no further! You may have to wait in line, but we promise it's worth it! Try the goat cheese leek tart or one of the other many delectable goodies in the case.

Northwest 23rd Avenue

Northwest 23rd Avenue, Portland, OR 97210

If you've got some time to kill before our wedding, check out NW 23rd Ave. It's a great place to walk around, and you can stop by Salt & Straw to cool down with some ice cream while you're there. Salt & Straw has played a pretty pivotal role in our relationship. We decided we were officially "together" after a trip here and came here just about right after getting engaged too :).
