United States citizens and permanent residents don't need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico as long as you have a valid United States ID. Guests traveling from outside of the United States will need a passport. Puerto Rico has the same visa and passport requirements that would apply if visiting the mainland United States. Puerto Rico uses the United States dollar.
Hopefully lots of sunshine! It will likely be about mid-80s during the day and night. The sun in PR is VERY STRONG. Be sure to keep a close eye on the UV index and bring lots of sun screen and hats :) The weather app may scare you to assume it's going to thunderstorm in San Juan every day, but don't forget that Puerto Rico is a tropical island! We experience short rains throughout the island that usually clear pretty quickly.
