We're getting married!

Mary and Mike met at Caffrey's Pub on "Mug Night" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At the end of the evening, Mike told Mary that he "just got a puppy named Henry"; and gave her his number "in case she wanted to meet Henry.". A few days later, Mike asked Mary to go on a walk around campus with Henry, where Mike and Henry showed up in coordinating Patagonia vests. At that moment Mary knew Mike was someone special and the rest was history.

In June of 2021, Mary and Mike had planned to drive to Colorado for a fly fishing trip. About ten days before they were set to leave, Mary and Michael were driving home from dinner in an Uber when a drunk driver hit them. After that terrifying event, the two decided to extend their trip and drive to Marfa, Texas, before going to Colorado. Mary had an idea that Mike was proposing sometime in Colorado but had no idea how or when he was planning to ask. On the first morning in Marfa, Mary, Mike, and the dogs left to get some coffee. By the grace of God, Mary was ready on time for the first time in her life. As they were walking to get coffee, a local photographer stopped and said, "your dogs are so cute! I am a local photographer; do you mind if I take a picture of your dogs?". The question was no surprise because people often asked to take pictures of Henry and Georgie. As Mary started to get the dogs situated, Mike stopped her and said he "had another question to ask," and he proposed! To Mary's surprise, Mike quickly scratched his Colorado proposal plans and put together the best surprise in Marfa! He planned the whole thing and hired the photographer in just a few days! The two spent the day calling friends and family and celebrating the big news! It was the most fantastic day, followed by an incredible trip!
