We’re Getting Married!

Every summer since we started dating we have always gone on weekend trips to Cape Cod. The first year we went we had breakfast at the Keltic Kitchen in West Yarmouth and after breakfast we decided to go into the Irish store in the back. Scott always finds someone to talk to when we go anywhere so he got talking with a woman who worked at the store and told her that it was our first time in the Cape together and we are exploring. When Scott told her we were exploring she told him that we just HAD to go to Mayflower beach for the sunset because it is absolutely beautiful. As soon as Scott heard about it we had to go. We went to Mayflower beach that night and it was the most amazing sunset, the sky was clear and there were tide pools everywhere so all of the colors of the sky were reflecting off of them. After going there together for the last 5 years we decided on our 6th year together it would be so fun to rent a house in the Cape for Labor Day weekend and spend time together with friends. We had an amazing day at the beach in Dennis and headed back to eat a late lunch and get ready to go watch the sunset at our favorite spot. We wanted to share with our friends what we get to share together every year. When we got there we set up our chairs and watched the dogs play together. My camera got left behind in the car so Scott went to go grab it even though I said it would be okay. When he got back we took a walk together so I could take pictures of Harlow and some together. As I was taking pictures of Harlow, Scott called my name and I turned around and he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I of course thought he was joking and eventually when realization kicked in that he was not in fact joking I said YES! Mayflower beach has become even more special for both Scott and I.
