HER-story

How We Met & Our First Date

I’d just celebrated my 30th birthday and I’m living my best life. Around April 3, 2013, I created an account on Instagram. Now back in 2013, there was no DM (Direct Message) so if you wanted to communicate with someone you had to post it on their picture, which EVERYONE could see. A few days later once I logged into my account, I noticed I had 20 notifications from someone by the name of “messdogg liking ALL my pictures. I’m thinking to myself, who is this messdogg? So being curious I clicked on the name and it took me to his profile. I first noticed the profile picture of a handsome man that had big biceps and a great smile. So then I started scrolling through his profile. It appeared he was single and ready to mingle. Now, messdogg also wrote a comment on my page, one that I cannot say here, but just know it was VERY direct “wink wink”. I then responded to the comment and said, “You look familiar.” He responded, “You do too.” I then was extremely intrigued now that I thought I knew him, so I commented back and wrote, “Are you a Bruh?” (as his name on IG was messdogg and I thought he could be a member of a Greek Organization). However, when his response was, “What’s that?” I knew he was not Greek and wrote back, “Nevermind” and then said, “We’ve got to figure out how we know each other.” I then asked him if he had an email address. Now again, keep in mind in 2013 there was no DM, so everyone could see us messaging back and forth on the picture post; thus the reason I asked for his email address. But instead, messdogg put his phone number on the post. I was like, “OMG, this man is serious!” At that point I then responded to let him know I got the number so that he could immediately remove it. Now I thought about waiting a day or two to reach out, but hell I’m 30--so why play games. I texted him right after and said, “Hey.” He responded, “Hey...” I text back and asked, “Do you know who this is?” He responded and said, “stldiva_01” (which was my IG name) and smiling as I respond to the text and said, “YES!” We texted and talked all that day and he asked me out on a date. On, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 we went on our first date for drinks at Hot Shots in Maryland Heights, MO. We talked, had a couple drinks, played pool and then we heard it had started to rain outside. As we were playing pool, the lights went out due to the severe thunderstorm warning. We literally were trapped in this bar, but we were so in the moment, we continued to play pool, laugh and talk. AND…years later, the rest is history. Needless to say, I could never figure out why he looked so familiar, maybe it was just meant to be.

HIS-story

How I Met Andrea

Oh boy, Oh man. So we kind of, we kind of met a couple times but Andrea act like she don’t remember meeting me. So, I ran across her page on Instagram. Thats how we started. And you know, I was just doing what I do, looking at pictures. I ran across her profile, and kinda, you know how it goes. I just started liking a whole lot of her pictures. So, we started conversating; yes conversating back and forth through Instagram. You know. Then she asked me for my e-mail address, I’m like you better take this phone number. And it just went on from there. But I’m telling you, we had actually ran into each other out before. Yeah, yeah. And she knows it, but acting like she doesn't remember that. I had to remind her on our first date. Oh boy, our first date, ha, ha. Oh my God, we had met up, you know, met up for drinks. We went to Hot Shots. It was a big weather storm, like a blackout. TV’s and everything went out. So basically, we were stuck at Hot Shots and talked all night. Finally, everything came back on. But really, I was real skeptical of going out on a date because I was getting my haircut that Friday, and this was days before. I really didn't want to go out and meet without a haircut. Annndddd, it was two things. My haircut, and then my pockets were short, so my friend had to loan me some money. I’m thinking we are just going to Happy Hour, so I just asked my guy for $20. I’m not thinking she wants dinner and drinks. But I made that $20 stretch ALLLLL NIGHT! And look at me now. Yeah.
